A former MLB star might be making a comeback! 🌟
According to baseball insider Francys Romero, ex-Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez has become a hot commodity this off-season, attracting interest from multiple teams. Sanchez's agent, Chris Leible, confirmed they are exploring their options.
But here's where it gets intriguing: Sanchez, 33, has been out of the MLB spotlight since 2022, yet his recent performance in the Dominican Winter League has been nothing short of impressive. With a 1.55 ERA, 34 strikeouts, and only 35 hits allowed in 46.2 innings, he was named Pitcher of the Year in the six-team league.
And this is the part most people miss—Sanchez's resurgence comes after a challenging 2024 season with the Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons, where his ERA soared above eight.
Sanchez's career highlights include a five-year stint with the Blue Jays (2014-2019), where he played 146 games and maintained a 3.96 ERA. He was traded to the Houston Astros in 2019 and later played for the San Francisco Giants in 2021.
Adding to the excitement, Bob Elliott from the Canadian Baseball Network reports that Sanchez will represent Mexico at the World Baseball Classic in March, alongside Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk.
Could this be the comeback story of the year? Will Sanchez reclaim his former glory in the MLB? The baseball world awaits with bated breath. What do you think his chances are? Share your predictions in the comments below!
